New Landscape Photography

In my continuing attempt to edge this blog more toward being a home for my photographic and artistic endeavors and thoughts, just wanted to dash off a quick post to let you all know that my "Apartment Homes" project was featured on the New Landscape Photography blog (run by the NY photographer Willson Cummer). For those of you who have been following my work for a while, perhaps the most interesting part is that the NLP post also features my most recent iteration of my statement for the project. I always have trouble with my statements, given that much of what my projects try to accomplish is in that strange liminal realm just at the edge of being explainable or not, but I think that after six or eight different statements, this one works the correct way. [Fun extra fact: I've actually changed the project's name four times over the six years that I've been working on it.]

Apartment Noise Installation, For Wreck & Reference, Crowhurst, So Stressed and *Major Entertainer* Mike H

Earlier this year I did an art show re-imaging my Apartment Homes Fakebook project for a warehouse ecxpirimental music show featuring the amazing lineup of Wreck & Reference, Crowhurst, So Stressed and Major Entertainer Mike H. Somehow I never posted photos from the night. It was a crazy, loud, noisy, hazy, abrasive, dark, messy group of musicians and it was a real challenge to transform photographs from their usual small xerox book form in to large pieces that were installed on and around the stage.
